What happens to any waste that is collected?

Due to recent legislation, waste oil collected from grease traps can no longer be sold on for a profit to be used in products such as cattle feed. Waste oil must now be collected commercially for proper disposal or recycling, and commercial waste carriers are required to operate under license.

As a member of the Waste Carriers and Brokers Public Register for England, RGR Facilities’ engineers are fully licensed to collect and dispose of waste and effluent from your grease trap.

Upon collection, a Waste Transfer Note will be provided to the site, and the waste oil will be taken to a licensed waste management facility for disposal.

Under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, sites are required to keep Waste Transfer Notes for a period of 2 years, to be made available for inspection upon request.
